These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of shipshapesociety.com and the services offered by Shipshape Society, a Texas limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). By using our website, joining the Society, or purchasing or booking a service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or services.
Shipshape Society provides educational content, community membership, and advisory services for boat owners and buyers — including the Boat Buyer Consulting Program, Vessel Orientation Program, courses, Boat Listing Red Flag Checks, and Vessel Inspections (Pre-Purchase). Our services are advisory and educational in nature.
Shipshape Society is not a yacht broker and does not represent any buyer or seller in a transaction. Our reviews and virtual inspections are advisory opinions based on the materials and access available at the time, and do not constitute a formal, credentialed marine survey. We strongly recommend a formal marine survey and sea trial by a qualified surveyor before any purchase. All final decisions — including whether to buy, sell, travel, or spend money — remain solely yours. We do not guarantee the condition, value, safety, or seaworthiness of any vessel.
Prices are listed on the relevant service pages. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize the charge for the service you select. Certain programs require an application, and pricing for those may be discussed during your application call.
Appointments are scheduled through Cal.com. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please do so as early as possible using the scheduling email or by texting 415-910-5507. Because our services involve dedicated, scheduled time, fees for completed sessions are generally non-refundable. Where applicable, a service fee may be credited toward another Shipshape Society service as described on the relevant page.
All content on this site — including text, graphics, logos, course materials, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Shipshape Society and is protected by applicable laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shipshape Society and its founder, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of the site or services, reliance on our advisory opinions, or any vessel purchase or ownership decision. Our total liability for any claim relating to a service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shipshape Society and its founder, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the services or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site or services means you accept the updated Terms.
