Yellowfin is Dustin's J/105 — a 35-foot one-design keelboat that races in one of the most competitive fleets in the country, right here on San Francisco Bay. The J/105 is a true test of crew work and boat handling: strict one-design rules mean races are won on trim, tactics, and preparation, not checkbook.

She is the winningest boat in the Berkeley Chowder race series, and Dustin has campaigned her in the J/105 fleet at the Rolex Big Boat Series — one of the premier regattas on the West Coast. Racing at this level is where you learn exactly how a boat loads up, where it breaks, and how to make fast, correct decisions when it's blowing and the fleet is stacked on the line.

Everything Dustin sees on the race course feeds directly back into how he inspects, services, and teaches: rig loads, systems under stress, and what real sailing does to a boat.
