Firebird — Palmer Johnson 84
Aluminum Ketch · World Cruiser · Legend
Firebird is an 84-foot Palmer Johnson aluminum ketch launched in 1968 — at the time, the largest aluminum sailing yacht in the world. She's logged three circumnavigations including the Arctic and Antarctic, and she's built like a fortress: a collision bulkhead, five watertight compartments, and dogged-down aluminum hatches. A 2015 refit added a full teak interior that's simply stunning.
A Palmer Johnson aluminum expedition yacht with maybe the most beautiful interior ever built. A genuine world-cruising legend — adventure and craftsmanship in one hull.
Boats like Firebird are proof that the right aluminum expedition yacht can be both a fortress and a work of art.
